SIAM JUIT Successfully Hosts Annual Orientation, Paving Way for Future Academic Growth

JUIT, Waknaghat– The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) chapter at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) successfully hosted its annual orientation program on September 19, 2024, marking an important event for students eager to dive into the world of applied mathematics and computational science.
The program aimed to introduce students to SIAM JUIT’s mission of bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications, equipping them with the skills and insights necessary for academic and professional success. The event, attended by a large number of enthusiastic students, included an insightful presentation by the chapter’s executive committee. It highlighted how SIAM JUIT fosters academic excellence through activities such as coding competitions, expert talks, and research opportunities.
Students were also introduced to the chapter’s various past initiatives, underscoring the immense benefits of being a SIAM member, including access to cutting-edge research, mentorship, and exclusive networking opportunities. The orientation aimed at cultivating a supportive learning environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
Special acknowledgment was given to Prof. (Dr.) Vivek Kumar Sehgal, the faculty advisor for SIAM JUIT, for his unwavering support, and Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor of JUIT, for endorsing the event and championing academic growth across the institution.
The orientation not only created a strong sense of community among the new and existing members but also laid a solid foundation for a year filled with impactful learning and professional development.
