Shimla July 29

The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) Shimla Urban Committee on Tuesday organized a “Victory Rally” in Shimla, celebrating what it described as a major achievement following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Hundreds of students from various educational institutions participated in the march, raising slogans and expressing support for the student movement.

Addressing the gathering, SFI Shimla Urban Committee President Tilak Raj termed the development a “historic victory” for students and the public, alleging that sustained nationwide protests compelled the Centre to respond. He claimed that despite arrests and police action against protesting students, the movement remained united and succeeded in its demands.

SFI Himachal Pradesh State President Anil Thakur accused the Central Government of reneging on assurances regarding the withdrawal of cases against protesting students. He also criticized the alleged police action against student activists and condemned reported attempts to detain SFI All India Joint Secretary Aishe Ghosh.

Concluding the rally, SFI Shimla District Secretary Pawan said the organization’s campaign would continue until the National Testing Agency (NTA) is dissolved and a transparent examination system is established. The student body warned that if police action against protesters continues and its demands are not addressed, it will intensify its agitation across Himachal Pradesh and other parts of the country.

The statements and allegations in the rally were made by SFI leaders during the protest and represent the organization’s position.
