LR Institute of Pharmacy Marks World Hepatitis Day with Awareness Programme

Solan, July 28: LR Institute of Pharmacy, Ochghat, Solan, observed World Hepatitis Day 2026 by organizing an awareness programme to educate students about hepatitis prevention, early detection, timely treatment, and the importance of public health awareness.
The keynote awareness lecture, titled “Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down,” was delivered by Assistant Professor Mukesh Sharma from the Department of Pharmacology. He explained the different types of hepatitis, their causes, modes of transmission, risk factors, symptoms, preventive measures, vaccination, early screening, and the importance of timely treatment. He also highlighted the crucial role of pharmacists in promoting health awareness and preventing the spread of hepatitis.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Managing Director Shachi Singh, Dean Academics Dr. P. P. Sharma, and Principal Dr. Avneet Gupta. Faculty members, department heads, and students actively participated in the event, which concluded with an interactive discussion and a vote of thanks.
The institute said the initiative reflects its commitment to promoting health education and encouraging students to actively participate in community awareness campaigns.
