JUIT Waknaghat Elevates Technological Proficiency with Mitsubishi Electric’s Cutting-Edge Robotic Setup

Waknaghat, Feb 3 – The Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) Department of Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) Waknaghat orchestrated a remarkable ‘Training Workshop on Robotic Setup’ in collaboration with the esteemed Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd. This two-day event, held on January 29-30, 2024, marked a significant leap in technological prowess, amplifying the knowledge of students in the field of Industrial Automation.

Establishing a transformative partnership, the ECE Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd. in April 2022. This strategic alliance bore fruit as Mitsubishi Electric India generously provided JUIT with cutting-edge learning setups, including Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Inverter, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and Servo Motors in April 2022. The collaboration reached new heights in December 2023 when Mitsubishi Electric India delivered an advanced Industrial Robot Setup to further enhance the educational experience.

The installation and training session, held under the guidance of Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Head of the ECE Department, witnessed the expertise of Mr. Paras Mehta, an accomplished professional from Mitsubishi Electric India. Dr. Pardeep Garg and Dr. Salman Raju Talluri, faculty members of the ECE Department, coordinated this transformative initiative.

The captivating event unfolded as Mr. Paras Mehta successfully completed the installation of the robotic setup on January 29, 2024, from 2-5 PM. The following day, January 30, 2024, commenced with a warm welcome and an introduction to the distinguished expert. The training on Robot Basics, commencing at 10 AM, captivated an audience comprising the HoD of the ECE department, faculty members, lab staff from various departments, and numerous students from ECE, CSE, and IT branches.

During the insightful training session, Mr. Paras delved into various topics, encompassing the basics of Robots, Robot Operation, Backup Procedure, and Robot Programming using Teach Pendant. The hands-on session using Programming Software with RT Toolbox 3 showcased practical applications through programs illustrating the ‘Pick & Place’ operation. The session concluded at approximately 4:45 PM, followed by an invaluable feedback session where all attendees expressed their appreciation for the expert guidance and the immersive training experience.

This collaboration between JUIT Waknaghat and Mitsubishi Electric India paves the way for a dynamic and knowledge-rich future, providing students with hands-on experience and expertise in cutting-edge industrial technologies. As the university continues to push boundaries in education and research, such collaborations become the cornerstone of fostering innovation and excellence.
