JUIT Biotechnology Students Achieve Global Recognition
1 min readWaknaghat, December 31, 2024: Students from the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, have achieved remarkable milestones by securing prestigious opportunities abroad.
Ms. **Sirina Kalia**, an M.Sc. Biotechnology student, has been selected for a fully funded Ph.D. program in Biochemistry at the University of South Carolina, USA. Her award includes a teaching assistantship, a research assistantship, a full tuition waiver, and health insurance. Sirina attributes her success to the Foreign Student Exchange Program at JUIT, which provided her with invaluable exposure and guided her toward advanced studies.
Similarly, Ms. **Shivangini Singh**, an M.Tech. Biotechnology student, has secured a project under Prof. Ashwini Chauhan at Florida A&M University, associated with the U.S. Department of Defense. Her research will focus on microbial indicators of gut health using metaomics. Shivangini has also been awarded a full Ph.D. stipend and tuition fee sponsorship, paving the way for her academic and research pursuits in the USA.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of JUIT, along with Prof. Sudhir Kumar, Head of the Department, congratulated both students for their exceptional achievements. Their success reflects the University’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering global academic excellence.
