Shimla, September 20, 2025:

The Himachal Pradesh University Teachers’ Welfare Association (HPUTWA) has announced a 24-hour hunger strike on September 26 outside the Vice-Chancellor’s office under the slogan “Save the University.” The association alleged that despite repeated assurances, their long-pending demands, including CAS promotions, timely DA release, staff housing, and regular salary disbursement, remain unfulfilled. HPUTWA leaders said the delay in salaries for four consecutive months and stalled facilities reflect the government’s indifference towards higher education.
