Shimla July 01 : Despite ongoing heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) has decided to continue postgraduate degree and diploma exams as per the original schedule. The decision was taken after discussions between Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahavir Singh and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajendra Verma.
However, for students unable to attend due to weather disruptions, special exams will be conducted later to ensure fair opportunity. On June 30, HPU had cancelled all PG exams due to bad weather, sparking protests from students who had already reached centers. After consultation with college principals and staff, the university resolved to continue regular exams.
HPU Controller of Examinations Prof. Shyam Lal Kaushal emphasized that the decision considers the commitment of students arriving at centers despite the rain. The university assures alternate arrangements for those genuinely affected.
