HPNLU Shimla and TRAI Host Consumer Outreach Programme on Cyber Safety and Telecom Rights

Shimla, 28 May 2025 — The Legal Aid Clinic of Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, in collaboration with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), successfully organized a Cyber Safety and Telecom Consumer Outreach Programme on 28th May 2025. The initiative, held under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, aimed to spread awareness on issues like cybercrime, data privacy, and telecom consumer rights.

Distinguished guests included Shri Vivek Khare, Advisor TRAI, Shri Ranjit Singh Dhiman, Vice Chairman of Himachal Upbhokta Sanrakshan Parishad, and Shri Sushil Kumar Bansal, Senior Research Officer, TRAI. Experts from the Cyber Crime Cell and Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) also participated.

Discussions focused on combating Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC), navigating digital threats, and utilizing government platforms for consumer protection. The session saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, making it a vibrant platform for learning and engagement.

Organized by Prof. (Dr.) Alok Kumar, Dr. Ruchi Gupta, and Mr. Saurabh Sadhwani, the event underscored HPNLU’s ongoing mission to empower citizens through legal education and awareness.
