HP Government Schools to Stay Open on Independence Day

The Himachal Pradesh Education Department has directed that all government schools across the state will remain open on August 15, 2026, to celebrate India’s Independence Day. Schools have been instructed to observe the national festival with full respect, patriotism, and enthusiasm. Educational institutions will organize flag-hoisting ceremonies, cultural programs, patriotic performances, and other activities to mark the occasion and encourage students to embrace the spirit of national unity and pride.
