CID Refuses to Investigate Allegations Against Former DGP and 10 Police Officers
1 min readThe CID has declined to investigate allegations of harassment against former Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Kundu and nine other police officials. In a letter to the police headquarters, CID stated that the investigation should be carried out by another agency due to the presence of one accused officer currently serving in CID. The letter highlighted concerns about impartiality and transparency in the inquiry. The allegations stem from Meena Negi, wife of former police employee Dharmasukh Negi, who claimed that higher police officials abused their power to conduct a false investigation against her husband, resulting in his dismissal without a hearing in July 2020, despite eight years of service remaining.
