Farmers Can Apply for Subsidised Agricultural Equipment by October 29

Hamirpur, October 24: Farmers in Himachal Pradesh seeking modern agricultural equipment at subsidised rates can apply online from October 25 at 12 noon, as the government reopens the portal [agrimachinery.nic.in](https://agrimachinery.nic.in). The last date for applications is October 29.

Deputy Director of Agriculture Dr. D.D. Sharma said the initiative under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization in Himachal Pradesh aims to promote modern machinery suited to hill farming. Equipment, including power tillers and power weeders, is being provided to farmers at subsidised rates.

Applications received through the portal will be processed transparently, with beneficiaries selected through a lottery on October 30. Small and marginal farmers, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe farmers, and women farmers will be eligible for a 50 per cent subsidy on the specified agricultural equipment.

Dr. Sharma urged farmers to purchase only approved equipment models from firms registered with the Government of India to avoid difficulties at a later stage.
