State Government releases Rs. 35.68 Crore under MIS
SHIMLA 23 October, 2026
A spokesperson for the Himachal Pradesh Horticultural Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation (HPMC) said here today that, in accordance with the state government’s guidelines, an amount of approximately Rs.35.68 crore has been disbursed to around 16,877 orchardists under the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) during 2026.
He said that the Corporation has disbursed Rs.17.53 crore in cash and provided inputs worth Rs.18.15 crore, including Horticultural Mineral Oil (HMO), TSO, fertilizers, machinery and other materials. In addition, payment claims amounting to Rs.12.13 crore, relating to 7,059 orchardists, are currently under process.
He further said that the state government is continuously working to safeguard the interests of orchardists and ensure timely payments.
He said that at the 222nd meeting of the HPMC Board of Directors, held on 8 October, 2026 deadlines were fixed for the submission of pending claims under the MIS. The objective is to streamline the claim submission process, determine the Corporation’s financial liabilities and make payment procedures more transparent and time-bound. Accordingly, orchardists who supplied apples under MIS-2024 and earlier schemes but have not yet submitted their payment claims must do so by 30 October, 2026.
Similarly, orchardists who supplied up to 30 bags of apples under MIS-2025 must submit their pending claims by 15 November, 2026. Those who supplied between 31 and 100 bags of apples and have not yet submitted their payment claims must do so by 30 November, 2026.
The Corporation has also issued necessary instructions to all concerned branches to ensure that pending payment claims are processed in a transparent, systematic and time-bound manner. Each branch will maintain proper records of the claims received and the documents submitted in support of them.
Maintaining a seniority register for all pending claims has also been made mandatory. As soon as the required documents are received from an orchardist, a serial number will be assigned to the claim, and the relevant details will be entered in the register. This will ensure that all claims are properly recorded and processed in the prescribed order.
In addition, instructions have been issued to establish arrangements at the branch level to ensure that orchardists receive prompt and convenient services.
The spokesperson appealed to all concerned orchardists to pay special attention to the prescribed deadlines and submit their pending MIS payment claims, along with the required documents, to the respective HPMC branches well in advance. This will enable the subsequent verification and payment process to be completed in accordance with the applicable rules.
