CM interacts with students of Government Model Senior Secondary School in Rohru

· Announces Rs. 2 crore for new government school building in Rohru on student’s request
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today interacted with students of PM Shri Government Model Senior Secondary School, CBSE, in Rohru. He answered the student’s questions and listened to their views and concerns.

During the interaction, a girl student requested a new school building. Responding to her request, the Chief Minister announced Rs. 2 crore for the construction of the new building. He said that if this amount would not be enough to complete the building and that the state government would provide additional funds as required.

He said that the construction of the new campus would take some time, but the present state government was focused on developing modern school campuses with better facilities for CBSE schools across the state. The student said that after the school became a CBSE, the number of students had increased and classes were now being held in two shifts. She said that a new building was therefore needed.

Sh. Sukhu said that the state government was giving special attention to opening CBSE schools in the government sector. The aim was to provide children in rural areas with better opportunities for quality education, so that they could get modern and high-quality educational facilities similar to those available in private schools.

A student asked the Chief Minister whether his biggest challenge was meeting people’s expectations or managing his time. In reply, the Chief Minister said that both were important, but bringing timely improvement in the state’s financial situation had been the biggest challenge. He said that the state government was working to make Himachal Pradesh a self-reliant state and aimed to make it one of the leading and prosperous states in the country in the coming years.

A UKG student asked Sh. Sukhu about the stories his grandparents used to tell him during his childhood. Sharing his childhood memories, the Chief Minister said that during the winter months, family members would sit around the fire and tell him stories. He also mentioned the story of the ‘Seven Sisters’.

A student asked about the impact of the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on children’s intellectual development. The Chief Minister said that AI was an important technology in the modern world, but its effective use required a strong foundation in education and knowledge. He encouraged students to study with dedication and said that education would help them face the challenges of the future.

Responding to a question about employment opportunities, the Chief Minister said that good education was most important for students because it develops their ability to think and understand things and helps them choose the right path in the future. He said that the state government was working to create employment opportunities in the government sector as well as promoting self-employment, so that young people could create new employment opportunities for themselves.

While interacting with the students, the Chief Minister said that the future of Himachal Pradesh was bright. He said that the state government was committed to make Himachal Pradesh self-reliant and developing it into a financially strong and prosperous state.
