Rohru Hospital Strengthens Advanced Healthcare Services for Nearly Three Lakh People
Shimla, September 27: Civil Hospital Rohru has emerged as an important healthcare centre for residents of Rohru, Jubbal, Kotkhai, Chopal and Dodra-Kwar areas, besides serving people from neighbouring Uttarakhand.
The 200-bed hospital provides round-the-clock emergency services and records an average of 800 to 1,000 OPD patients daily. It currently has 22 doctors and 24 staff nurses, along with facilities including CT scan, ultrasound, digital X-ray, blood bank, dialysis, ventilator-supported HDU and specialised operation theatres.
Senior Medical Officer Dr Ravinder Sharma said the hospital serves a population of nearly three lakh. A six-bed dialysis centre operated with the support of Hans Foundation provides free dialysis, with around 12 patients receiving treatment daily.
A four-bed day-care cancer unit is also being established, while a Rs 23-crore, 50-bed critical care block is under construction. The hospital is also set to receive a dual-mode 16-slice CT scanner within two months.
Portable ultrasound and X-ray facilities are further strengthening emergency and diagnostic services at the hospital.
