Eight Short Films Screened at RKMV as Part of International Film Festival Shimla
Shimla, Sept. 25: Eight short films were screened at the Multipurpose Hall of Government College for Girls, Shimla (RKMV), on Friday as part of the 12th International Film Festival of Shimla. The screening was organised by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Around 50 RKMV students are volunteering at the festival’s venues, including the Gaiety Heritage Cultural Complex and the college’s Multipurpose Hall.
The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Anurita Saxena, while Vice-Principal Dr. Subhash Kapta was present as the special guest.
Dr. Saxena said such international-level events provide students with opportunities for broader exposure and contribute to their overall development. She added that meaningful cinema can serve as a reflection of society while encouraging creativity, critical thinking, social awareness and empathy among young audiences.
The films screened were Ayan Melik Ki (Lullaby), An Oyster Life by Prachi Vasant, Between Two Words by Soore Vahe, Renewal by Oleksandr Bykov, Chupi Roh by Disha Bhardwaj, Raanphool by Pritesh Pramod, Halgi by Rohit Ravindra, and Paswaar by Shayar Kamal Gandhi.
Dr. Sandhya Sharma, Prof. Geeta Sharma, Dr. Vinay Mohan Sharma, Dr. Praveen Bhatia, members of the college community and a large number of students attended the screening.
