L.R. Institute of Pharmacy Observes Pharmacovigilance Week
Solan, Sept. 25: L.R. Institute of Pharmacy, Solan, observed Pharmacovigilance Week from September 17 to 23, 2026, to promote awareness about drug safety and the rational use of medicines.
The week-long programme was organised around the theme “Promoting Rational Use of Medicines through Pharmacovigilance – A Step Towards Safer Healthcare.”
On the concluding day, the institute organised a guest lecture on “Role of Healthcare Professionals in Promoting Rational Drug Use & Pharmacovigilance.” Dr. Devika Rana, the keynote speaker, highlighted the role of pharmacists and healthcare professionals in monitoring Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs), ensuring rational prescribing and improving patient outcomes.
She also encouraged students to actively participate in ADR reporting to strengthen drug-safety practices and contribute to a safer healthcare system.
The programme was held under the guidance of Managing Director Dr. Shachi Singh, Director (Academics) Dr. P.P. Sharma and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Avneet Gupta. Faculty members and students attended the session.
The programme concluded with the message: “Safe Medicines, Healthy Lives, Stronger Communities.”
