Ensure Strict Compliance with Election Commission Directives: District Election Officer

Shimla, August 30, 2026: District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap inspected the EVM Warehouse at Fagu on Monday and reviewed its security arrangements.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner checked the CCTV surveillance system, security arrangements, fire-fighting equipment and entry-exit registers maintained at the warehouse. He also issued necessary directions to the concerned officials.

Kashyap directed officials to ensure that there is no lapse whatsoever in the security of the EVM warehouse and that all directives issued by the Election Commission are followed strictly.

He emphasised that the security of Electronic Voting Machines is a top priority for maintaining transparency, credibility and public confidence in the electoral process.
