Vikramaditya Singh Assures Funds for Devdhar-Ranol Road

Rohru, August 30, 2026: Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh today presided over the closing ceremony of the ‘Ujain Mela’ at Koti Bai in Gram Panchayat Ranol.

Congratulating the organisers and local residents on the successful conduct of the fair, the minister said such traditional events play an important role in preserving and promoting the state’s rich cultural heritage and folk traditions. He stressed the need for collective efforts to pass local customs and traditions on to future generations.

Road projects worth Rs 120 crore underway

Highlighting ongoing development works, Vikramaditya Singh said road construction and improvement projects worth around Rs 120 crore are currently underway in the area. These projects will benefit local residents as well as horticulturists.

He said funds would soon be provided for the upgradation and metalling of the Devdhar-Ranol road. He also announced the construction of a valley bridge at Sarivasa.

Expressing concern over the slow pace of work on the Rohru-Chirgaon-Dhamwari road, the minister directed officials to expedite construction. He said unnecessary delays would not be tolerated and appropriate action should be taken against contractors found negligent.

He further directed Public Works Department officials to ensure that roads blocked during the monsoon are restored within 24 hours to minimise inconvenience to residents and horticulturists.

The minister said Rs 203 crore has recently been sanctioned for the construction of the Chhaila-Yashwantnagar road. Once completed, the project will provide better connectivity to horticulturists and facilitate transportation of their produce to markets.

Vikramaditya Singh also announced Rs 3 lakh for construction of a serai building and assured that funds would be provided for installing high-mast/halogen lights in the temple premises. He also appealed to local residents, particularly youth, to stay away from drugs.

Inspects Ranol school building

The minister inspected the under-construction building of Government Senior Secondary School, Ranol, and directed the concerned officials to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe so that students can benefit from the new facility at the earliest.

MLA raises local development issues

Rohru MLA Mohan Lal Brakta welcomed the minister to the constituency and presented various development demands and local issues. He also highlighted the significant contribution of former Chief Minister late Raja Virbhadra Singh to the development of the Rohru constituency.

During his one-day visit, the minister also heard public grievances at the Circuit House in Rohru and at Badiyara, Jangla, Thana, Todsa, Gumna, Limbda, Devdhar and Ranol. He directed the concerned departments to take timely action on the demands and problems presented by local residents and stressed that unnecessary delays in development works should be avoided.
