Portmore, Dhami Students Witness Assembly Proceedings, Learn About Parliamentary System

Shimla, Aug 22: Students of Portmore School, Shimla, and Government College Dhami visited the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on the second day of the Monsoon Session and witnessed the proceedings of the House.

Before entering the House, the students met Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, who briefed them on the role of the Legislative Assembly, MLAs, the government, Opposition and the Speaker. He explained how laws are made, how the budget is passed and how legislative debates contribute to democratic governance.

Pathania said the Assembly is an important institution of democracy, enabling people to participate in governance through their elected representatives. He also invited the students to observe the proceedings and wished them success in their future endeavours.
