Relief Material Distributed to 25 Disaster-Affected Families in Boh
Shahpur, August 18, 2026: Shahpur MLA and Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania visited Boh on Tuesday and met families affected by the recent disaster to enquire about their well-being. On the occasion, relief material was distributed to 25 affected families on behalf of the state government.
The relief material included mattresses, gas connections, clothing for men and women, tracksuits, footwear and kits containing essential daily-use items.
Interacting with the affected families, Pathania said land has been identified for their rehabilitation. Families willing to relocate to the identified site have been asked to inform the administration so that the necessary process can be initiated at the earliest.
He said Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced a relief package for disaster-affected families and assistance will be provided to eligible families in accordance with the package.
Pathania also directed the Panchayat Secretary and Patwari to ensure that bank accounts of the affected families are opened at the earliest, so that they do not face any difficulty in receiving relief assistance.
The MLA said several affected families are currently staying with relatives, making immediate support with essential household items particularly important. The relief material distributed during the visit is intended to help families meet their immediate day-to-day requirements.
Pathania assured the affected families that the government would extend all possible assistance for their rehabilitation. He said the Chief Minister himself had visited Boh and assessed the situation and remains concerned about the rehabilitation of the affected families.
He urged affected residents to approach the administration or him directly with any concerns or difficulties so that appropriate action can be taken promptly.
SDM Shahpur Ganesh Thakur said the directions issued by MLA and Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania would be implemented in letter and spirit. He assured that all possible assistance would be provided to affected families in accordance with the directions of the state government.
