DC Directs NHAI Officials to Improve Drainage System in Hardaspur, Mugla and Karyan

Meeting Held with NHAI and Concerned Officials to Review Drainage Arrangements

Chamba, August 17, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal chaired a meeting with local officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to review measures for upgrading and improving the drainage system at Hardaspur, Mugla, Karyan and other locations along National Highway-154A.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed review of the existing drainage arrangements and directed all concerned officials to take necessary steps for their improvement.

Mukesh Repswal directed the Sub-Divisional Administration to conduct a joint field inspection through teams comprising officials from the Revenue and Police departments. He also instructed officials to ensure the immediate removal of encroachments around drainage channels as well as construction material stored by residents near the drains.

NHAI officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the action plan prepared to strengthen drainage arrangements in the affected areas. They also apprised him of various issues being encountered on the ground.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasised timely coordination among NHAI, the district administration and other concerned departments to ensure effective drainage arrangements and minimise inconvenience to residents, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall.
