Hamirpur’s Biggest Inter-State Bus Terminal Nears Completion

Set to Transform Regional Connectivity

Hamirpur, August 6: Hamirpur is set to get Himachal Pradesh’s largest inter-state bus terminal, a landmark infrastructure project that is rapidly nearing completion. Long awaited by residents for nearly two decades, the state-of-the-art facility is expected to redefine public transport and give the district a new identity.

Being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹125 crore, the multi-storey terminal has already achieved over 70% completion. The project was approved by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who directed officials to expedite all formalities before construction began.

The modern complex will feature extensive parking for buses and private vehicles, along with dedicated space for several government and semi-government offices. Designed as more than just a transport hub, the facility aims to improve passenger convenience while supporting administrative services under one roof.

Located at the heart of Himachal Pradesh, Hamirpur serves as a key transit point with buses operating daily to interstate destinations, major cities, district headquarters, and local routes. The existing bus stand has long struggled to handle the growing volume of traffic, leading to congestion and inconvenience for commuters.

Once operational, the new terminal is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in Hamirpur town, enhance passenger amenities, and strengthen regional connectivity, marking a major milestone in the district’s infrastructure development.
