BCS Alumnus Vishwesh Negi Appointed as Ambassador of India to Iran

Shimla, 4 August 2026: Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, takes immense pride in announcing that its distinguished alumnus, Shri Vishwesh Negi (IFS: 2002), has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Islamic Republic of Iran by the Government of India.

An Old Cottonian from Lefroy House (Batch of 1994), Shri Negi was born on 31st March 1977. His appointment to one of India’s most significant diplomatic assignments is a matter of great honour for his alma mater and reflects a career built on unwavering dedication, exemplary public service, and diplomatic excellence.

From his formative years at Bishop Cotton School to representing India on the global stage, Shri Negi’s journey embodies the values of integrity, leadership, and commitment that the school has upheld for over 165 years.
