31 Participants Complete Entrepreneurship Development Programme at HPU Biotechnology Incubation Centre

A three-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) concluded successfully at the Biotechnology Incubation Centre (BIC-HPU), Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, with 31 participants, including members of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and aspiring entrepreneurs, receiving hands-on training in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, marketing, legal compliance, and institutional support.

Held from July 27 to 29, the programme featured expert sessions by professionals from Himachal Pradesh University, Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), the State Bank of India (SBI), and other institutions. Participants were trained on business planning, market assessment, branding, digital marketing, FSSAI compliance, intellectual property rights, GST registration, project report preparation, banking support, and access to government schemes.

The programme concluded with an address by HPU Vice-Chancellor (Retd.) Prof. Arvind Kumar Bhatt and BIC-HPU In-charge Dr. Ravi Kant Bhatia, who highlighted entrepreneurship as a key driver of self-reliance and rural economic development. The initiative aimed to strengthen the entrepreneurial capabilities of FPOs and aspiring entrepreneurs while promoting sustainable and institutionally supported enterprises.
