Leopard Found Dead Near Atal Tunnel

Manali, July 27: A leopard was found dead near Dhundi Bridge on the Atal Tunnel road, prompting the Forest Department to launch an inquiry.

The carcass was taken into custody and a post-mortem was conducted at the Sub-Divisional Hospital, Aleo, Manali, by a veterinary officer in the presence of a committee constituted under the Wildlife Protection Act and departmental guidelines.

The post-mortem confirmed that the leopard died of natural causes. After completing all legal formalities, the Forest Department disposed of the carcass as per prescribed procedures while adhering to all wildlife conservation norms.
