DPS Shimla Headmistress Represents School at National Leadership Programme

DPS Shimla Headmistress Veena Chauhan represented the school at the three-day “Leading and Learning” Capacity Building Programme for Principals, organised by the DPS Society’s Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) in Noida. The programme brought together academic leaders from 29 Delhi Public Schools across the country to discuss emerging trends in educational leadership and institutional excellence.
The programme focused on equipping school leaders with strategies for 21st-century education, covering areas such as innovative pedagogy, emotional intelligence, digital integration, inclusive school culture, teacher development, student well-being and data-driven decision-making.
Addressing the inaugural session, DPS Society Chairman V.K. Shunglu highlighted the importance of effective institutional governance and financial accountability, while legal expert Neeraj Grover shared insights into the evolving legal framework governing school education. Executive Director of DPSS-HRDC Sandhya Awasthi conducted sessions on leadership and effective classroom practices, encouraging principals to embrace continuous learning and professional growth.
Representing DPS Shimla, Veena Chauhan shared the institution’s journey of establishing itself among Shimla’s leading schools despite geographical challenges. She highlighted the school’s sustained efforts to strengthen academic excellence, enhance its visibility and create opportunities that enable students to compete with the best institutions in the region.
The programme also served as a collaborative platform for principals to exchange ideas, discuss common challenges and adopt innovative leadership practices. For DPS Shimla, the participation reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening institutional leadership, fostering academic excellence and delivering holistic education aligned with the values of the DPS Society.
