Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s two-day visit to Bara Bhangal, one of the most remote regions of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh, stands as a strong testament to his sensitivity and deep commitment towards the holistic development of people living in far-flung areas. It is evident that the present government’s development agenda is not confined to roads and urban centres but is driven by the resolve to reach every citizen living in the remotest corners of the state.
Areas whose voices had struggled for years to reach the corridors of power in Shimla are now witnessing the Chief Minister personally visiting them, interacting with residents, listening to their concerns and ensuring on-the-spot solutions to their problems.
Translating the vision of “Vyavastha Parivartan” into action, the Chief Minister has demonstrated that, for him, the measure of development is not the number of votes but the needs of the people. His commitment to bringing sparsely populated and politically less influential regions into the mainstream of development is clearly visible.
During his visit to Bara Bhangal, the Chief Minister said, “I have not come here to do politics; I have come to share your hardships and stand with you.” This statement reflects both his style of governance and his unwavering commitment to public service.
The residents of Bara Bhangal expressed immense happiness over the Chief Minister’s visit. Local resident Kamlo Devi said that the visit has raised hopes for improved facilities in the region. Rishu Ram remarked that Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is the first Chief Minister to stay overnight in Bara Bhangal, expressing confidence that their long-pending issues would now be addressed. Santosh Kumari said that the residents had placed their concerns before the Chief Minister, who immediately directed officials to resolve them.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had also visited several other remote and difficult regions, including Dodra-Kwar and Kupvi in Shimla district, Baga Sarahan in Kullu district and Sarchi in the Banjar Assembly constituency. During these visits, he stayed overnight, interacted closely with local residents, understood their challenges firsthand and took prompt decisions to resolve them.
