Himachal Education Minister Meets J&K LG, Explores Collaboration in School Education

Shimla, June 25: Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur met Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha during the visit of a high-level education delegation to Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen cooperation in the education sector.

During the meeting, Thakur briefed the Lieutenant Governor on Himachal Pradesh’s education reforms, including efforts to improve learning outcomes, strengthen school education, and ensure quality education in remote and hilly areas. He said both Himalayan states face similar geographical challenges and can benefit by sharing best practices and successful educational models.

Earlier, the delegation also held discussions with Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Education Minister Sakina Itoo on improving school education, promoting innovation in teaching and learning, institutional collaboration, and enhancing student outcomes.

The two sides expressed confidence that continued cooperation and exchange of experiences would help strengthen education systems and deliver quality, future-ready education in both states.
