Theog, June 25: The Department of Industries organised a one-day awareness workshop under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises at the Jas Industrial Area in Theog.
The workshop highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship, digital business practices, and e-commerce in helping MSMEs grow in a competitive market. Participants were also informed about the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), which provides financial assistance, bank loans, and subsidies to youth and women for setting up manufacturing and service enterprises.
The programme included technical sessions on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Portal, entrepreneurship and e-commerce, and the Micro and Small Enterprises–Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP). Experts explained how MSMEs can access government procurement, adopt digital payment systems, establish online businesses, and benefit from cluster-based development.
