133 ETF (TA) Battalion Personnel and School Children Plant 2,200 Saplings

A plantation drive was jointly conducted at Government High School, Kinder, located in Gram Panchayat Kinder, Tehsil Nihari, District Shimla, by the personnel of Alpha Company, 133 ETF (TA) Battalion, along with the school’s teachers and approximately 120 students.
During the campaign, a total of 2,200 saplings were planted in and around the school premises. The entire school staff and students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating their commitment towards environmental conservation.
On the occasion, Naib Subedar Titam Thakur addressed the students on the importance of tree plantation and environmental protection. He encouraged them to plant more trees and nurture them, emphasizing their role in ensuring a cleaner and greener environment for future generations.
He further informed the gathering that, in addition to the mandated afforestation tasks assigned to 133 ETF (TA) Battalion, the unit has undertaken an additional aim of planting 75,000 saplings across its area of responsibility. To achieve this objective, extensive plantation drives are being conducted in collaboration with schools, panchayats, and local communities. The initiative aims to enhance green cover, promote environmental conservation, and contribute towards a greener Himachal Pradesh.
The joint efforts of the battalion personnel, school administration, and students conveyed a strong message of environmental responsibility and community participation. The event served as an excellent example of collective action towards nature conservation and sustainable development.
Local residents appreciated the initiative and remarked that such campaigns not only contribute to environmental protection but also instill a sense of responsibility and environmental awareness among the younger generation.
