Minority Welfare and Development Schemes Reviewed in Shimla

Shimla, June 18: A district-level committee meeting under the Prime Minister’s New 15-Point Programme was held in Shimla under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Sachin Sharma to review the implementation of welfare and development schemes for minority communities.
The meeting assessed progress in education, nutrition, skill development, housing, employment, and financial assistance programmes. Officials informed that 475 children from minority communities are enrolled in Anganwadi centres across the district, while 379 are benefiting from supplementary nutrition programmes. Under the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya scheme, 100 girls are currently studying at the residential school in Andha, Chauhara block.
The committee also reviewed scholarship schemes, Urdu education, madrasa modernization, employment generation under MGNREGA and NRLM, technical education opportunities, and loan assistance provided through the Himachal Pradesh Minorities Finance and Development Corporation. ADC Sachin Sharma directed all departments to ensure that benefits of government welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries in a timely and effective manner.
