JUIT Hosts International Biotechnology Conference ICBAB-2026

Waknaghat, June 2: The 3rd International Conference on Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (ICBAB-2026) commenced at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, bringing together leading scientists, academicians, researchers, and students from across the globe to discuss emerging trends and innovations in biotechnology and bioinformatics.
The conference was inaugurated by Padma Shri awardee Prof. (Dr.) P. L. Gautam, Chancellor of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Bihar, who highlighted the critical role of biotechnology and bioinformatics in addressing global challenges related to healthcare, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and computational biology. He encouraged young researchers to pursue scientific innovation with a sense of responsibility and societal commitment.
Welcoming the delegates, Conference Convener Dr. Saurabh Bansal, along with co-conveners Dr. Ashok Kumar Nadda and Dr. Shikha Mittal, outlined the conference objectives and emphasized its focus on sustainable development, cutting-edge research, and international collaboration. Program Chair Prof. (Dr.) Jata Shankar underscored the importance of interdisciplinary research in solving complex scientific problems.
Addressing the gathering, JUIT Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Sharma said such international platforms play a vital role in nurturing young talent by providing opportunities for learning, networking, and research exchange. He noted that ICBAB-2026 reflects JUIT’s commitment to promoting scientific excellence and innovation.
The inaugural session also featured the release of the conference abstract book, marking the beginning of three days of keynote lectures, technical sessions, research presentations, and academic discussions aimed at advancing knowledge in the life sciences.
