Sipur Fair Concludes with Sports, Cultural Performances in Shimla Rural

The two-day district-level Sipur Fair concluded on a vibrant note in Shimla, with sports competitions, cultural programmes and community participation drawing large crowds throughout the event.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Manjeet Sharma, who felicitated winning teams and appreciated the efforts of organisers and participants for making the fair a grand success.
Around 50 teams participated in various sporting events, making sports competitions the main attraction of the fair. Volleyball witnessed participation from 18 teams, while 10 teams competed in the women’s kabaddi category and 22 teams in the men’s kabaddi tournament.
In the women’s kabaddi event, Baba Jogon team emerged victorious while the Paonta Sahib team secured the runners-up position. In volleyball, Love Brothers team lifted the championship trophy and Negi Brothers team finished second.
The winning teams received ₹31,000 cash prize along with trophies, while the runners-up were awarded ₹18,000 and trophies.
The fair also showcased colourful cultural performances by students from several educational institutions, including Government Model Senior Secondary School Mashobra, Sophia School Mashobra, Government Senior Secondary School Mulkoti and Government ITI Mashobra.
A health check-up camp organised by the Health and Family Welfare Department and stalls set up by self-help groups added to the attraction of the fair.
