A high-level meeting chaired by Dr. S.P. During the deliberations, participants stressed the need for stronger inter-departmental coordination to improve nutritional outcomes and enhance the implementation of food and nutrition schemes across Himachal Pradesh.
The meeting focused on designing structured training programmes for Mid-Day Meal workers, Anganwadi workers and school staff, with special attention on nutritious recipes, scientific menu planning and hygiene standards.
The promotion of Nutri-Gardens through Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) was also discussed to ensure greater access to fresh and nutritious produce at the grassroots level.
Officials decided to appoint nodal officers from the School Education and Women & Child Development departments to strengthen coordination with CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya. The university also offered technical support for preparing training modules and conducting master training programmes for field-level implementation.
The Commission stated that a coordinated action plan with defined timelines, responsibilities and monitoring mechanisms would soon be prepared to ensure effective execution of nutrition-related initiatives across the state.
