Samagra Shiksha’s Efforts Bear Fruit as KGBV Girls Shine in Class 12 Results

Shimla, May 6: Students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) functioning under Samagra Shiksha have delivered an impressive performance in the Himachal Pradesh Board Class 12 examinations, with several girls securing up to 94 percent marks and emerging among the top performers in the state.
The achievement reflects the impact of quality residential education being provided to girls from educationally backward areas under the Samagra Shiksha initiative. At present, 14 KGBV hostels are being run across Himachal Pradesh, attached to nearby government high and senior secondary schools to ensure holistic academic development of students.
Officials said that improved academic infrastructure, enriched libraries, digital learning resources, and a supportive residential environment have played a key role in boosting the confidence and academic performance of the students.
Among the top achievers, Anshika Sharma of KGBV Bharmour, Chamba, secured 94.2 percent marks, while **Shammi of KGBV Mehla scored 92.20 percent**. Other students from various KGBVs in Chamba district also recorded remarkable results, showcasing the growing academic excellence of these institutions.
In Sirmaur district, Shivani of KGBV Shillai scored 84 percent, while students from KGBV Andhra in Chirgaon, Shimla district, also performed commendably, with Divya securing 75 percent and Vedika obtaining 72 percent marks.
Dr. Manjula Sharma, Nodal Officer (KGBV), Samagra Shiksha, appreciated the outstanding performance of the students and said the results reflect the dedication of both students and teachers.
Samagra Shiksha Director Rajesh Sharma stated that the success of KGBV students is a strong indicator of the state’s continuous efforts towards inclusive and quality education. He said the institutions are not only helping girls excel academically but are also empowering them to become confident and self-reliant individuals.
