Admissions open for UG & PG programmes in Horticulture, Forestry at Nauni

Nauni – Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni has announced the commencement of admissions for its undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the academic session 2026-27. Prospective students keen on exploring diverse fields such as Horticulture, Forestry, Natural Farming, Biotechnology, Food Technology and Agri-Business can apply. The application process is entirely online via the university website www.yspuniversity.ac.in, where a detailed prospectus is also available for download.
In undergraduate programmes, the University is offering BSc (Hons) Horticulture and B Sc (Hons) Forestry at its main campus and at the Colleges of Horticulture and Forestry (COH&F) Neri and Thunag. In the main campus, the students have also been given the option to study BSc Agri. (Hons) Natural Farming and B Tech Food Technology(self-financing) at the main campus. The university is also offering B Tech Biotechnology and B Tech Food Technology at COH&F Neri.
The university is also offering M Sc in its College of Horticulture and College of Forestry located at the main campus at Nauni and COH&F Neri. The specializations offered in Horticulture are Entomology, Floriculture and Landscaping, Food Processing and Technology, Fruit Science, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Plant Pathology; Plantation, Spices and Medicinal and Aromatic Crops; Postharvest Management, Seed Science and Technology and Vegetable Science. The courses of MBA Agri-Business Management have also been offered.
The specializations offered for MSc in Forestry are Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension Education, Agricultural Statistics, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, (Agri) Environmental Sciences, Forest Biology and Tree Improvement, Forest Products and Utilization, Forest Resource Management, Microbiology, Plant Physiology, Silviculture and Agroforestry and Soil Science.
The last date for receipt of online applications for UG programmes for normal seats is June 6 and July 18 for self-financing seats. The last date for online application for MSc Programmes is June 23. The last date (with late fee) for UG programmes normal seats is June 12 and self-financing seats is July 25 while for Masters programmes is June 30.
The date of the entrance exam of UG and PG programmes is June 21 and July 5 respectively. The result of UG entrance test will be declared on July 06 while the result of PG programmes will be declared on July 15. The list of candidates for UG self-financing seats will be displayed on July 31. The UG entrance test will be conducted at Solan, Hamirpur, Sundernagar, Palampur and Rampur.
The normal seats are reserved for applicants with Himachali domicile. Admissions to UG normal seats will be done on the basis of marks obtained in UG entrance test. However, some normal seats over and above the intake capacity are earmarked for candidates from the North Eastern States and for candidates from outside Himachal Pradesh at the National level. In contrast, all self-financing seats are open to all desirous candidates at the national level in both the Undergraduate and Master’s Programmes.
Whereas the merit of marks obtained at 10+2 level in four subjects- English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Mathematics will be considered for admission to UG self-financing seats. Admissions to PG programmes will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the PG entrance test. An applicant can apply for both normal and self-financing seats.
