HPAS Officers Association Urges Restraint Over Unverified Allegations Against Officer
1 min readShimla, April 29: The Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service Officers Association has expressed concern over the circulation of unverified reports and social media content regarding allegations against an officer posted in Solan district.
In a statement, the Association reaffirmed that accountability and transparency are integral to public service and that any credible allegation must be examined fairly in accordance with the law. However, it cautioned against the growing trend of sharing unverified information and speculative narratives, stating that such practices can harm the morale of officers, damage institutional credibility, and undermine principles of natural justice.
Highlighting the longstanding contribution of HPAS officers in delivering governance across challenging terrains, the Association appealed to media organisations and the public to exercise responsibility and verify information before dissemination. It also stressed that officers, especially those in sensitive roles, should be allowed to function independently without undue pressure or premature conclusions.
The Association expressed confidence that the competent authorities will address the matter objectively and in accordance with due process.
