Language Department Wins Inter-Department Cricket Tournament at HPU Dharamshala

Dharamshala, April 25, 2026: The inter-department cricket tournament at Himachal Pradesh University Regional Centre, Dharamshala concluded successfully after four days of competitive matches, with the Language Department (Sanskrit + English) emerging as the winner.
The final match was played between the Language Department and M.Com Department. Chasing a target of 75 runs set by M.Com, the Language team secured victory comfortably with six wickets in hand. Bindu Thakur was adjudged **Man of the Match** for his outstanding performance in the final.
The semi-final matches were equally thrilling, with the Language Department defeating the Mathematics Department, while M.Com overcame the History Department to enter the final.
The tournament witnessed great enthusiasm, discipline, and sportsmanship among participants, making it an engaging event for both players and spectators.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Director Kuldeep Atri, who emphasized the importance of sports in developing discipline, teamwork, and leadership among students. Physical Education Director Ashwani Lakhanpal also highlighted the role of such events in promoting holistic development.
Faculty members, including Prof. Sanjeev Dadwal, Prof. Kishore, Prof. Het Ram, and Prof. Sandeep, were also present on the occasion.
The organizing committee was appreciated for successfully conducting the tournament, and both winners and runners-up were congratulated.
