CPI(M) Demands SIT Probe into Chester Hills Land Scam, Warns of Statewide Protest

Shimla, March 30, 2026:

The CPI(M) state committee has demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the alleged Chester Hills land scam in Solan and other land-related irregularities in Himachal Pradesh. Addressing a press conference in Shimla, party leaders alleged involvement of senior अधिकारियों and called for immediate removal of the Chief Secretary pending investigation.

The party claimed that the alleged scam involving 275 bighas of land could run into hundreds of crores and may extend beyond Solan to Shimla. It also raised concerns over the alleged nexus between land mafia, real estate operators, and officials, demanding registration of FIRs and a fair probe.

CPI(M) leaders warned that if strict action is not taken, the party will launch a statewide agitation and even gherao the state secretariat. A fact-finding team will also visit Solan to investigate the matter independently.
