Shimla Police Arrest Accused in Chhota Shimla Temple Donation Box Theft

Shimla, February 24, 2026: Shimla Police have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the theft of a donation box from a temple in Chhota Shimla. The case was registered at Police Station East under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita after the complainant reported that the donation box went missing during early morning prayers on February 23. Acting swiftly, police apprehended the accused from Sirmaur district and recovered the stolen donation box along with cash near the Kusumpti forest area. The accused has been produced before the court and further investigation is underway. Police have urged temple authorities to strengthen security measures, including CCTV surveillance and vigilance.
