Main Supplier of Shahi Mahatma Drug Network Arrested After 1.5 Years on Run

Shimla, February 20, 2026: Shimla Police have arrested Pradeep Kumar alias Ranta (38), a key supplier linked to the Shahi Mahatma drug network, in connection with FIR No. 50/24 registered at Kotkhai Police Station under Sections 21, 27A, 29 of the NDPS Act and Section 111 of BNS. The arrest comes after sustained investigation into a 2024 heroin seizure case where 468.380 grams of contraband was recovered.
Police said Pradeep Kumar played a major role in procuring drugs from outside states and supplying them across the Rohru region through the network led by prime accused Shahi Mahatma. The gang’s operations allegedly involved more than 500 drug users. The accused had been absconding for nearly 1.5 years after the initial arrests. A special team from Kotkhai Police and Theog Sub-Division traced and apprehended him using technical surveillance. Further investigation is underway.
