Shimla Police Bust Inter-State Drug Supply Network; Main Kingpin Arrested from Zirakpur

Shimla: District Police Shimla have intensified backward-linkage investigations under multiple NDPS cases, leading to the arrest of the alleged main supplier Vijay alias David from Zirakpur, Punjab. Acting on technical inputs and a 24-hour field operation, police teams traced the accused who was reportedly supplying heroin (chitta) to drug traffickers across Shimla, Theog, Rampur and Rohru areas. Another accused, Nitesh Sharma alias Mike, was also arrested during the operation.

Police investigations across five NDPS cases registered at Baluganj, Theog, Rampur and Kumarsain revealed a common supply chain linked to the kingpin. Authorities said the accused had allegedly supplied drugs to more than 70 individuals in Himachal Pradesh and was earlier arrested in 2023 with 180 grams of heroin. So far, 15 persons have been arrested and over 335 grams of chitta trafficking has been linked to the network, while further investigation is underway to dismantle the interstate nexus.
