NCW to Hold State-Level Consultation on Women’s Safety in Higher Education in Shimla

Shimla, Feb 11: The National Commission for Women (NCW) will organise a state-level consultation on women’s safety in higher educational institutions on February 12 at the Deputy Commissioner Office’s Bachat Bhawan in Shimla. Chaired by NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, the session will bring together senior police officials, university administrators, legal experts, faculty members, and student representatives to discuss challenges related to campus safety and implementation of the POSH Act. The consultation aims to review existing institutional mechanisms, strengthen coordination among stakeholders, and develop actionable recommendations to ensure safer, harassment-free academic environments for women.
