DC Distributes Emergency Response Kits to ‘Aapda Mitras’ Ahead of Republic Day

Una, Jan 24, 2026: Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority and Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal on Saturday distributed emergency response kits to 50 trained ‘Aapda Mitras’ at his office. He also congratulated them for being selected to participate in the district-level Republic Day parade, calling it a recognition of their preparedness and service spirit.
The trained volunteers have been included in the parade to encourage their future role in disaster response and community-level preparedness, and to inspire more youth to join grassroots disaster management efforts.
The Aapda Mitra / Yuva Aapda Mitra Volunteer Scheme, implemented under the National Disaster Management Authority, provides specialised training to volunteers across 350 selected districts in the country. The initiative aims to strengthen India’s disaster management framework by building a skilled volunteer base at the local level.
