Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Singh Thakur has expressed gratitude to Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for approving ₹601.92 crore for Himachal Pradesh under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to support relief and reconstruction after recent natural calamities.
Anurag Singh Thakur said the Modi government has consistently shown sensitivity towards Himachal Pradesh, treating it like a second home. He termed the financial assistance as a “healing touch” for the state, which has suffered extensive damage due to floods, cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides over the past few years.
He added that the Centre’s timely support would significantly aid rehabilitation, rebuilding of damaged infrastructure, and restoration of affected river systems. Highlighting the scale of support, he noted that the central government has allocated a total of ₹8,625 crore so far for river channelisation and related works in Himachal Pradesh, aimed at mitigating future disaster risks and strengthening long-term resilience.
