“No Real Vision, Only False Claims”: Jai Ram Thakur Slams CM Sukhu on 3-Year Performance

1 min read

Shimla, December 20, 2025:
Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur lashed out at Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, accusing him of having “no achievement beyond falsehoods” even after three years in office. He asserted that the government has failed to introduce even three meaningful, state-wide initiatives and is relying solely on “tax and loan-based governance.”

Thakur said the State economy cannot be strengthened through rhetoric and data manipulation, but through structural reforms, industry support and employment generation — areas in which he claimed the Congress government has failed. He alleged that investor confidence has collapsed, self-employment schemes have been discontinued, and incomplete projects have left young entrepreneurs struggling.

He criticised the government for celebrating its tenure using disaster relief funds, adding that neither the CM nor his ministers were able to present a single major policy that has benefitted the public. According to him, the three years have been defined by internal power struggles rather than public welfare.

Thakur further charged that the government’s “Vyvstha Parivartan” slogan has turned into a system driven by contractors and corrupt interests, sidelining public needs. He said people now recognise the administration as directionless and claim-driven, and urged the government to prioritise public interest over propaganda.
