Awareness Camp on Disaster Management organized at ICAR-CPRI, Shimla

On 25.11.2025, an awareness Camp on Disaster Management was organized at ICAR-CPRI, Shimla by HP Home Guards Department, Shimla. During this camp, officials from the Home Guards Department Mr. Prakash Negi and Sh. Naresh Verma ji detailed about different kinds of disasters and their mitigation. About 145 regular/temporary staff members attended this camp. They interacted with the staff of the Institute and given a detailed lecture on different aspects of Disaster Management. Live demonstrations were also given by the officials.
They also emphasized on rendering social service as Civil Defence and playing a vital role in social service. Dr. Brajesh Singh, Director, ICAR-CPRI, Shimla praised the efforts of Home Guards for their efforts during natural calamities and other disasters. He also mentioned that whatever the officials from department have told us about disasters and its management, everyone should teach their families, children and others also about this. In the end, Dr. Alok Kumar, Head, Division of Social Sciences felicitated the state officials as a token of respect. Sh. Sachin Kanwar, Secretary, ICAR-CPRI Staff Welfare Association thanked the team of home guards for a detailed lecture on disaster management and the staff for participating in this event.
