Strengthening Rural Economy Key to State’s Growth: Sanjay Awasthi

Solan, Nov 19 :Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi emphasized that Himachal Pradesh’s overall development depends on a strong rural economy. Speaking at the inauguration of the Kisan Mela organized by Ambuja Cement Foundation at Mangu Panchayat, he said the state government is committed to empowering farmers and horticulturists by ensuring fair prices for their produce.

Awasthi highlighted several welfare schemes aimed at strengthening farmers, orchardists, and livestock owners. He noted the significant increase in the minimum support price for cow and buffalo milk, which will directly benefit livestock farmers. He also underscored the government’s focus on promoting natural farming, announcing special pricing for natural-farming crops such as maize (₹40/kg), wheat (₹60/kg), and turmeric (₹90/kg).

The MLA visited various exhibitions at the fair and honored farmers and horticulturists who secured top positions. He also announced ₹21,000 for the Mahila Mandal of Chakhdu and ₹1 lakh for the community hall shed.
