CPR Awareness and Training Programme Organized in Shimla

Shimla, October 16, 2025.

As part of the nationwide CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) Awareness Week being observed from October 13 to 17, 2025, a CPR awareness and training programme was organized at Shivalik Nursing Institute, Bhatakufar, under the joint aegis of the Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Branch and the District Red Cross Society, Shimla. A total of 55 students received hands-on training during the session.

On the occasion, Virender Bisht, Lay Lecturer of the Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross, demonstrated CPR techniques and elaborated on their importance in emergency situations such as cardiac arrest, drowning, or unconsciousness.

Siddharth Kaundal and Harpreet Mattu from the District Red Cross Society, Shimla, along with Geeta Thakur, Youth Red Cross Coordinator, and other faculty members from the institute were also present.

The objective of the programme was to equip nursing students with life-saving skills and raise public awareness about the importance of CPR. The training session witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members.
