Jairam Thakur Alleges Sukhu Government Interfering in Vimal Negi CBI Case

1 min read

Shimla, October 9, 2025 – Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur accused the Sukhdu government of attempting to withdraw the CBI investigation into the death of HPPC engineer Vimal Negi. In a statement, Thakur alleged that the government’s interference indicates deep connections to the case and called it unprecedented in Indian history, as the government is obstructing a probe ordered by a High Court.

Thakur claimed that key evidence, including a pen drive, was tampered with under government influence, raising serious questions about accountability. He stated that senior officials attempting to manipulate the investigation may face legal consequences and urged them to uphold constitutional duties.

He further highlighted that from the day Negi went missing, his family linked the case to the Pekhu Bela Project. Despite assurances from the Chief Minister to cooperate, the government allegedly created obstacles, forcing the family to seek CBI intervention and court orders. Thakur emphasized that the case exposes far-reaching conspiracies and connections to high-ranking officials, demanding accountability and an end to systemic failures.
